Alison Whitmire, Partner Consultant

In the last 20 years, Alison Whitmire has held leadership positions in strategic planning, finance and marketing in a variety of corporate settings. The binding thread sown through all the roles was her ability to set a vision, motivate and lead teams, and effectively implement strategies that resulted in increased profitability for the company and in a rewarding experience for team members.

In complex, high-stress business situations, clients and teammates have called Alison “the voice of reason.” She has the ability to see through to the crux of a matter and articulate it in a way that promotes understanding and forwards action. Last year, Alison founded her consulting firm, Emergence Services, based upon the concept of collaborating with clients to co-create possibilities from which solutions to problems emerge.

The hallmark of Alison’s consulting practice is the assimilation of quantitative, fact-based analytics with forward-looking, qualitative judgments. The result is strategy that is informed by past experience while integrating beliefs about the future. Alison has worked and consulted with companies on a broad array of sales and marketing strategy engagements that include the development of market segmentation, enhanced distribution strategy, and improved sales tools. For a Fortune 500 company, she led a revenue enhancement team to identify $50 million in profit improvement opportunities.

Alison is a strong relationship builder who prefers to work in teams. Her consulting is consistently mindful of impacts to teammates and employees. In her corporate experiences, she has served as an employee advocate, creating and administering mentoring programs and other employee-focused initiatives that resulted in a 17% increase in employee satisfaction.

Alison holds undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Finance from Texas Tech University, an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Business Strategy from University of Chicago, and a CPA from the state of Texas.

Alison is on the board of the Direct Marketing Association of Seattle and has spoken at the Puget Sound American Marketing Association’s annual Market Smart event. Alison was a member of the inaugural board of the Charlotte, NC Race for the Cure and co-chaired the organization in 1999.
