Case Study: Improving Communication for More Effective Teams
The Situation
One of the largest independent video animation producers in the country employs a very successful combination of artists, designers, programmers, producers and client service executives. Their unique corporate structure fully facilitates the work of its left-brain and right-brain employees alike.
The Obstacle
In spite of some of the inherent advantages of this “spaghetti bowl” structure, they found themselves facing barriers to greater productivity due to difficulties in communicating with each team.
Our Approach
They asked The Voisen Cooperative to help them move forward with a pair of strategic visioning sessions focusing on communications for 40+ of their key people, with an important requirement: avoid any semblance of “old-style, old-hat” training programs!
The Results
Participants from various teams were able to not only find common ground, but to understand their differences and get past them to create joint initiatives. These joint initiatives empowered better communication, and also saved some extremely valuable client relationships that had previously been threatened by the old communications issues.
