Case Study: Building a More Resilient Organization
The Situation
A high-tech firm, one of San Diego’s largest employers, grew to the status of a world leader in its industry in just over a dozen years.
The Obstacle
Unfortunately, they were facing growing pains in some departments and impossible deadlines in others. In general, the stress of their success was taking a toll on their most valuable resource: their people.
Our Approach
The firm brought The Voisen Cooperative in to provide a custom learning program for the employees. The topic: “Resilience: A Toolkit for Living and Working in Balance in Turbulent Times.” Working in conjunction with Greg and Sean Voisen’s mentors and teachers, Dr. Joel and Michelle Levey, the workshop was a huge success.
Within one hour of posting the announcement about the program, employees signed up in droves. To accomodate everyone, they had to schedule much larger facilities, have The Voisen Cooperative’s consultants come in for an additional day of training, and tape and broadcast the presentation using their in-house system.
The Results
Over 92% of the people who responded to our post-workshop evaluation said they wanted more of these kinds of programs to help them in their work.
